Americans on the Streets. Are Pensions Burning?

What is happening in mainstream media after Donald Trump announced protective tariffs on foreign goods can only be described as hysteria mixed with madness. The American left has also joined the attack. Protests swept through the streets of American cities, with people demanding that the USA return to the way things were (under the Democrats). „This is an economic revolution, and we will win,” wrote President Trump. „People see their retirement savings burning, and he’s out on the golf course,” retorted Senator Adam Schiff, a Democrat, of course.

At the end of last year, news reached the public that Intel had halted the construction of a factory in Poland. Not just in Poland—in Germany too. Back in 2023, Intel announced plans to invest $4.6 billion in a new semiconductor integration and testing facility in Miękinia near Wrocław. The giant intended to create 2,000 jobs there! So, what happened that a year later the Americans suspended their plans? Well, along the way, Donald Trump won the presidential election and announced that he would impose tariffs. It is very likely—almost certain—that Intel’s analysts (and consequently the company’s management) noticed this promise, took it seriously, and ultimately drew conclusions from it. Investments in Europe—this was roughly their conclusion—would be UNPROFITABLE! Business „thinks” with its pocket, or rather the wallet inside it! Thus, this investment will be realized in the United States, and Americans will get the jobs. If Intel tries—for example—to redirect its business to Burkina Faso, President Trump will indeed step off the golf course and take a swing at Intel’s owners, showing the politicians in Ouagadougou where the crawfish hibernate. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the USA will declare war on Burkina Faso, but it’s enough for Trump to say „boo” and wave his club in a gesture of: „I’ll hit the ball now!” Maybe the Afro-Africans don’t understand this, but Intel’s management certainly does.

So, what can we expect now? Well, investments as „powerful” as the one announced by Google. The company plans to invest $5 million (yes, this is not a typo—five million dollars) in Poland over the next five years! The funds will be allocated to training aimed at developing digital skills, announced Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, after meeting with Prime Minister Tusk in Warsaw. The latter was as delighted with Google’s announcement as a Russian with a bicycle.

What is President Trump doing now? He is doing exactly what every politician should do—taking care of the interests of his own nation! The fact that we will lose out because of this is certain, as I have demonstrated above. Should I be angry that Trump is looking out for his own interests? What a joke! It’s only Polish politicians who prioritize the interests of some international organization over the interests of their own nation. No one is forcing us to do this—we choose it ourselves!

So, what are Americans (though not all of them) doing on the streets of their cities? They want to live in a swamp: because it’s quiet, warm, cozy, and peaceful. Lacking perspective—they don’t see that life is draining from the pond. Only a rushing river can lead America to open waters, but that is what Democrats fear, as they could lose their chance to regain power for many years if the Republicans succeed.
